Lid Keeper keeps ordinary sessions on your Mac. Here is what the app stores, what the website receives, and what will change when purchase activation becomes available.
Updated 24 October 2026
Your sessions stay local
The app does not include analytics, advertising trackers or automatic crash reporting. It does not read your browser history, documents, playlists or the contents of your work. It checks local battery, power and thermal information to manage a session; these checks are not uploaded.
A local recovery record holds session timing, the app process ID, boot information and paths to temporary heartbeat and stop files. These let the recovery watcher restore sleep if the app stops responding. Recovery files are normally removed after restoration; failed cleanup can leave them on the Mac for a retry.
What your Mac remembers
macOS Keychain stores a randomly generated installation ID, trial timing and clock-check information, and any activated license receipt. The installation ID is created by Lid Keeper; it is not your Mac’s serial number. Saved preset names, durations and your last selected duration use local app preferences. Opening the app does not create an online account.
Removing the app does not necessarily remove its Keychain entry or preferences. Contact support if you want help removing local app data. End any active session and confirm sleep restoration before removal.
Purchase activation, when available
The current preview has no configured online activation or working checkout. The implemented activation flow will send your purchase key and installation ID over HTTPS only when you choose to activate. Ordinary sessions and recovery will continue without contacting a license server.
The activation service is designed to use Cloudflare and verify the license and paid order with Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy receives the key and, when a device slot is created, the installation ID. Our service stores hashed license and installation identifiers, provider activation references, request counters and any pending activation status. Hashing does not make these records anonymous.
Provider responses can include order and customer information, such as an email address. Our activation code checks the response but does not persist those customer fields or raw purchase keys in its application storage, and does not deliberately log request bodies. Hosting infrastructure may process request metadata separately. Payment details would be entered with the checkout provider, rather than in the app. See Lemon Squeezy’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Browsing this website
This website has no custom analytics, advertising pixels or signup form. Its browser demonstration does not send your demo selections to us. The hosting provider may process standard request information, including your IP address, visit time, requested pages and browser details, to deliver and protect the site. A private preview host may also apply its own sign-in requirements.
Contact and data requests
Lid Keeper is made by Faiz Krisnadi. Email support@lidkeeper.com with privacy questions, requests about information held through support, or help deleting local data. Support correspondence includes your email address and anything you choose to send; our email provider also processes those messages. Please leave passwords, full payment-card details and private files out of your message.
We have not set an automatic deletion period for support correspondence or future activation records. Requests will be reviewed against what is actually held and any records that must be retained for purchases or disputes. Deleting app records does not automatically delete records held independently by payment or hosting providers.
